浏阳教育体验活动

1. 活动主旨

本次活动是由国际部团委以及CAS社团活动部组织,旨在让同学们了解浏阳地区教育状况,亲身体验教育教学活动,从而能有所反思,有所成长。

2. 活动形式

2017年金秋十月之末,上海位育中学国际部DP11年级72名学生来到湖南浏阳,在砰山完小和矮桥小学开展了一次充满意义的教育体验行。

在正式授课之前,各个小组根据自己所选的课题,进行了精心的编排,一次次找负责老师询问意见,一次次练习试讲,做足了准备。授课当天,同学们怀着激动的心情来到了砰山完小和矮桥小学,迎接可爱的孩子们。砰山小学的六个小组分别任教6个年级6门课程,包括英语、天文、趣味数学、自我认识、手工和环境保护;矮桥小学的小组负责四个年级,教学科目包括了语文,英语,趣味科学,地理。

每个小组都安排了主讲同学和助教,耐心地为来自各个年级的孩子们上课。虽然过程中也遇到了少许困难——维持课堂纪律,吸引孩子们的兴趣也不是一件轻松的事。但孩子们的热情,乖巧和善良都超乎了我们的想象。来自位育的学生被亲切的称为 “大哥哥”、“大姐姐”,我们为孩子们准备了小礼物,孩子们也给我们写信来表达他们对我们的喜爱。每到课间,热情的小朋友们就追着哥哥姐姐们要签名,玩游戏,学校里充斥着大小孩子的欢声笑语。

在一天的授课后,同学们都感受到了疲倦和劳累,也体会到了做老师的艰辛。本次浏阳教育体验行教会了我们如何和孩子们交流、如何和队友有效的合作、如何应对各种突发状况,也让我们体验了另一种生活与做老师的不易。

1. Objective

This event is organized by the International Youth League Committee and CAS community activities department, aiming to let the students understand the education situation in Liuyang, personally experience education and teaching activities, so as to promote their self-reflection and self-development.

2. Form of Activities

When October came to an end, students in grade 11 from Shanghai Weiyu High School International Division embraced a significant teaching journey to Pengshan and Aiqiao Primary Schools in Liuyang, Hunan province. The three days of teaching experience was short but the children’s pure bright smiles are forever seared into our memories.

Before going there, students had made sufficient preparations to deal with every possibility in the class with kids. Not only did they arrange the class elaborately and check the procedures with supervisors carefully, but they also rehearsed for the class several times in advance. Furthermore, students had made up several groups responsible for different subjects, including Chinese, English, Geography, Astronomy, Mathematics, Science, Self-recognition, Handicraft, and Environmental protection. On the day when students would give lessons, they brought abundant teaching materials for kids there and couldn’t help feeling excited and looking forward to teach them.

Every group selected one lecturer for each grade, and other students in the group all served as tutors. They taught kids with great patience and were all well-received in return. During the break, kids there scrambled for the signature and contact information of teachers eagerly, showing great passion for these elder brothers and sisters. The whole school was reverberated with cheers and laughter.

After having a taste of being teachers for a day, students all felt exhausted and realized the hardship of the job. In summary, the precious experience of teaching in Liuyang has improved students’ communication skills with kids and taught them how to collaborate with partners effectively and how to deal with sudden incidents. Also, it let us know the difficulties of being a teacher.
